Hyderabad: Supporters of late Andhra Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy went on rampage on Thursday evening after a local TV channel aired a story regarding YSR’s death in Chopper crash.

YSR’s loyalist attacked the RIL’s outlets and ADAG offices across the Andhra Pradesh and called state-wise bandh on Friday. The TV channel telecast a sensational story published in an online Russian Tabloid exiledonline.com, which claimed Ambanis were behind the YSR’s chopper crash.

The tabloid reported that YSR was killed over Ambani brother KG basin gas dispute. After the airing of news activists of YSR went on rampage and attacked reliance outlets.

Meanwhile, the RIL has condemned the report and said that it was the handiwork of rival groups. In his statement, Reliance said that the report is false, malicious and motivated. “We condemn the report and ask government to investigate the matter.”

The company has said that it will file criminal case against the channel for maligning the image.

YSR was killed in a chopper crash on September 2, 2009.
